About Ben

Ben joined Royal LePage NRC Realty in 2019. He brings a wealth of knowledge to Royal LePage due to his experience as a Senior Appraiser with Ronald C. Ellens Appraisals Inc. He has completed real estate valuations and advisory for various property types, including residential, commercial, office, industrial, self-storage, institutional, multi-residential, development land, and agricultural. In this capacity, he maintains relationships with a wide variety of clients, including entrepreneurial real estate owner-operators, as well as large private and public corporations across the Niagara Region and surrounding municipalities. Total valuations exceed $100 million in assets annually.

Prior to working in real estate, Ben worked in business development for an award-winning franchise corporation. His work in franchise recruitment and sales expanded the reach of the company by 33%, or 5 million Canadians, as a result of doubling the number of franchise partners working in the system. Based on his efforts and the company's rapid growth, he was bestowed with the 2014 40 Under Forty business achievement award.

The Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) awarded Ben with the AACI, P. App., designation in 2018 having successfully completed a Diploma of Urban Land Economics through the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, as well as all required AIC curriculum. He graduated with Honours from McMaster University with an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. In January of 2020, he earned the Professional Land Economist designation (PLE) from the Association of Ontario Land Economists.

Through the ‘Ellens Real Estate Group’ Ben can offer clients a holistic approach to real estate, and an opportunity to consult with an accredited appraiser while going through the sales process. With his combined background as an appraiser, as well as a Realtor, Ben brings clients a unique approach to marketing and negotiating a property.
